our home: little boys room

June 18, 2015

Jagger has been bunking with Jett since January (thanks to my hubs for moving him out of our walk-in closet so he could build it out) and I finally took some time to freshen up the room and add a few new touches.

Lately I've been much more drawn to really simple color schemes and have removed most of the multicolored decor from my kids rooms which have left them basically BLUE and PINK. Super original I know but the simplicity is so much more soothing to me.

For the boys room I didn't really want to make any big changes or purchases. I still liked the striped blue walls, navy comforters and curtains and we would definitely be keeping the furniture. So I shopped around the house and basement trying to pull some things together. I bought new sheets and a canvas print (Lindsay Letters at Hobby Lobby - amazing!) and some fabric to make pillows. And when I couldn't find a whale pillow I liked ANYWHERE I just decided to make my own. I almost added the "wild at heart" banner to my etsy shop and last minute decided I wanted to hang it in the boys room. It's super simple and low key which is what I need in my life right now as I'm just trying to keep my head above water each day. :)
