soda-lighted.

May 22, 2012

After I posted my brother's graduation party
last week, a couple of you asked for
the blueberry cobbler recipe I used.
That's one of the beautiful things about being in a church small group...
the exposure to new dessert recipes! :)
Like I said, its SUPER simple...

ingredients:
1 to 2 cans of pie filling of your choice
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter, sliced or shaved

directions:
pour pie filling in glass baking dish
sprinkle dry yellow cake mix on top (as little or as much as you want)
place butter slices or shavings on top
bake at 400 degrees until golden brown
Seriously.
Can't get any easier.
And it is soooo delicious.

It's officially summer, people.
Well, for us any way.
And I joined the cheesefest of catchy sayings
for Jaymin's teacher gifts.
I saw the "soda-lighted" phrase on my mom's pinterest
and made up this little jpeg below.
Feel free to use it if you like!
The back of the tags had a little pocket
where I tucked a handwritten thank you note to each teacher
and a Target giftcard.

Jaymin's last day was last Friday
but he actually hadn't been for 2 weeks.
This is the "drama" I mentioned.
His school called to inform me that a student had a confirmed case
of pertussis and since Jaymin was not immunized
the health department required we do one of two things...
Give him the vaccine and he could return to school after 5 days
or not and he could return in 21...and school would be out.
As much as I didn't want him missing the last 2 weeks of preschool {ever}
there was no chance I was going to run out and immunize him
just so he could go back.
So, sadly, he missed most of the fun end of year activities
but was allowed to come back for the pizza party on the last day.
The kids tie dyed shirts earlier in the week and made one for Jay,
so sweet!
I was so happy we were able to go his last day.
I think I needed the closure more than he did. :)

Here's his first and last day of school pictures...

It should really say:
baby................teenager. ;)

i certainly hope the child with pertussis was kept out as well...considering he was the threat, not jaymin. 21 days? that's redonk.
