A colorful gift for a colorful girl & a SKC announcement!

March 15, 2011

I managed to track down another handmade Christmas gift
and thought I'd show it since it was one of my favs...
Jaymin drew his cousin Nevaeh
in our Christmas drawing this year
and she is such a fiery and colorful spirit
I wanted to reflect that in her gift.
And let me tell ya,
the girl ROCKS some of the biggest headbands I've ever seen
(and has since birth)
so naturally, I thought I'd nurture that tenacity. :)
I made her a little half apron
out of this beloved fabric
and whatever else I could find in my hoarded household stash.
As it turns out, my 2 year old nephew fights her for it daily. :)
And apparently he completes the ensemble
with a baby doll on one shoulder and a purse on the other. :)
Gotta love little boys with big sisters.
Think this headband is big enough? :)

*** SKC Announcement ***
I've had enough requests for these rosette headbands
that I finally decided to add them to my shop!
I love making them and trying new things
so check back often for new looks! :)

Oh! And the KU gift set from my last post
has also been added to my shop!

I can't get enough of this fabric either! I've been in love with it since I saw you first use it. One of these days I'm going to break down and actually buy some! Cute apron and headband:)
