Milestones...

August 17, 2008

We've had a couple of milestones in our household since the last time I've posted (which I realize was a long time ago). Jeff has officially started his new position with Waddell & Reed. He is now a licensed (and activated!) financial advisor. Yay. Seriously, we have been working towards this for 6 months! What a blessing, what a relief. Here he is looking snazzy after his first day of work :) (he's gonna hate me for this... :) )...

What a tall drink of water, huh? :) And next, my little man is officially a big boy. No, not in the potty department, in the sleeping department. A few weeks ago he was napping at my parents' house and I kept listening for him cause it was time for him to get up. Low and behold, he peeks through the spindles at the top of the stairs and says "mama?". We thought he tipped the packnplay over and climbed out, nope, he piled the blankets in the corner and then climbed out. (Anyone seeking a 2-year-old escape artist? Other skills include scaling cribs, highchairs, bar stools, and his mother's craft drawers, he has the face of an angel that is currently marred with a nice purple shiner.) That same day he climbed in and out of his crib and thought he was the coolest guy ever. He climbed out about 6 months ago a crashed good enough to scare him, but this time he was bigger, stronger and more coordinated so we knew it was time for "the change". For a couple of weeks we just put the side down of his crib and put an ottoman there for help but yesterday I decided it was time for that to not be an option anymore so we moved him straight into the queen bed. What a big boy! He's loving it (and his new found freedom, no so great for mom and dad) and this just makes me even MORE ready to start all over again...honey, please???... :)

I like the pictures ;) You are so funny LOL
I know we've all heard the more mature women in our lives tell us this...but now that I have a "teenager" I can understand why they say this... Cherish these moments big and small. Because before you know it..they are all grown up and they don't need their mama anymore..gulp gulp.. and we're totally annoying and weird!
